The University of Hong Kong (HKU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today (September 6) with the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government to establish a University campus in Shenzhen, with an aim to build a world-class comprehensive research-led university to nurture talents, contribute to the region and the world with its people and research.

The move marks an important milestone in the University’s development to elevate its excellence in teaching, learning and research to new heights. The new campus will be located in Shi Bi Long of the Nanshan district in Shenzhen. The project will be implemented in phases. HKU and the Shenzhen Government will establish a joint steering and working group for future planning works. Both parties will further work out the details following the signing of the MoU.
