HKU Holds National Day Flag-Raising Ceremony to celebrate the 77th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) held a flag-raising ceremony at Main Building Promenade to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China today (1 October).
Council Chairman Mr Peter Wong, President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Xiang Zhang, Council and Senate members, Faculty Deans, staff members and students at the University, as well as invited guests, attended the ceremony.
The ceremony was conducted by the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association flag-raising team. Following the ceremony, acclaimed tenor Mr Chen Chen and soprano Ms Louise Kwong delivered a stirring vocal performance of “Stay True to the Mission”. Their harmonious performance reflected a spirit of perseverance and dedication, adding a solemn and celebratory dimension to the occasion.
