HKU Information Day 2026 to Showcase AI Across Disciplines

The University of Hong Kong will hold its annual Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions 2026 (IDay) on October 24, 2026, welcoming prospective students, families, and members of the public to campus for a full day of admissions talks, programme information sessions, facility tours, and interactive activities.

This year’s event is themed “Shape a More Sustainable World with AI”, highlighting how artificial intelligence is being integrated across HKU’s disciplines — from computing and engineering to arts, humanities, business, medicine, law, and science.

The University also announced two new undergraduate programmes planned for the 2027–28 academic year, subject to approval.

The Bachelor of Arts Elite Programme, offered by the Faculty of Arts, provides a flexible interdisciplinary curriculum in the humanities with pathways to international master's programmes at institutions including the Geneva Graduate Institute and Peking University's Yenching Academy.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Robotics Engineering is a four-year interdisciplinary programme jointly offered by four departments within the Faculty of Engineering, featuring a Hong Kong–Shanghai two-city study roadmap and an emphasis on systems-level thinking and innovation.

This year’s IDay will also feature a Dual Degree Programme Fair, with representatives from UC Berkeley, the University of British Columbia, Sciences Po, and Peking University on hand to introduce programme structures and admissions requirements.

In addition, faculties and schools will host interactive workshops, mock lectures, and demonstrations showing how AI is being applied in fields such as creative industries, healthcare, business, and social innovation. Consultation sessions with admissions officers and student ambassadors will also be available.
